Wishlist, Discord and every official channel
One table of every official channel the studio links, what each one is actually for, and how to set up an alert that survives a two-year wait for release.
Steam wishlist is the only channel that emails you on release day. The Discord is open to everyone, the subreddit and YouTube channel carry trailers and shorts, and the studio posts project news to its own site rather than to Steam's news feed.
Last checked: 28 October 2026 — every link below was taken from the official site's own markup.
A 2028 game needs one channel that survives two years. Everything else is optional. Here is the full list of official channels, what each one is actually good for, and the shortest path to being told when the game launches.
The channels
| Channel | What it is for | Useful? |
|---|---|---|
| Steam wishlist | Emails you on release day and on major updates | Essential |
| Studio newsroom | Project announcements, written before Steam | Essential |
| Discord | Community, backer channels, dev chat | Useful |
| YouTube | Trailers and shorts | Useful |
Reddit (r/WonderfulNeoranValley) | Player discussion | Useful |
| Art and event photos | Optional | |
| Spotify | The soundtrack single | Optional |
| Merch shop | Physical goods | Optional |
| Kickstarter page | Campaign history and backer updates | For backers |
The studio does not run a newsletter and its site has no signup form — it says so explicitly in its own privacy page. Wishlist and Discord are the two live channels.
The wishlist, and why it is the only one that matters
Steam's wishlist is the only channel in that table with a guaranteed trigger: it sends an email when the game releases, and it also notifies you about demo releases and major store page changes. For a game with a two-year wait, that is the difference between remembering and not.
How to make it work:
- Sign in to Steam and open the store page for the game.
- Add it to your wishlist — the button sits in the purchase area, where the price will eventually appear.
- In Steam's settings, check that "wishlist notifications" are enabled for your account email.
- If you use the mobile app, the same wishlist shows up there, which is where most release-day notifications actually get read.
Nothing else in this list will email you on release day.
Following development without noise
The studio posts to its own newsroom rather than to Steam's news feed — Steam's news API returns nothing for this app while the site lists four dated posts. That makes the newsroom the place to check, and it is also why the updates page on this site mirrors it.
If you prefer not to check anything: wishlist for release day, join Discord for everything else. Discord is open to everyone, and the FAQ confirms backers get extra channels rather than exclusive access to the server.
About the merch shop
The studio links a shop for physical goods, and its FAQ says all merchandise other than Kickstarter perks will eventually be available online. The site also carries a "Purchase Pero" link in its creature section, so at least some of the merch is tied to a specific Neoran. That tells you the merch line launched before the game did.
